The Icon
| Description: | There are numerous well-respected iconic features around Australia.
Broken Hill has its own man-made icon, viewed by some, as a pile of dirt.
This ‘pile of dirt’ has helped to build Australia and many have lost their lives in the process.
It should be treated with the same respect as other icons.
I placed the Line of Lode in a typical local landscape to show its shape,
size and similarity to that famous icon.
Exhibited in Outback Art Prize 2006
